How does virtual treatment work?
Wondering how virtual treatment will work? I have the answers. Being seen virtually is perfect for anyone who would like to work on their goals from the comfort of their own home. There’s no need for travel. Avoid traffic, office visits and unexpected delays. Decrease your stress and do it virtually!
What will you need? You’ll need access to a phone, tablet, or computer and access to internet with a quiet location. You’ll then need to download an app. That’s it!
You’ll be sent a secure link, which is HIPAA compliant. During the scheduled visit, you’ll be given a variety of engaging content focused on your specific wants and needs. After the session, I send a basic follow-up message outlining what was discussed and any materials I think may be helpful. You’ll get to choose if you’d prefer the follow-up information via text, email, or chat.
It’s that simple!
What does payment look like?
I’m currently accepting private pay only, starting at $50 per thirty minute session. I offer the option to request a superbill. A superbill is a detailed invoice given after a therapy session which is used to submit a claim to insurance.
If you have out-of-network benefits through your health insurance, you may be able to receive partial reimbursement for speech therapy services. While I do not bill insurance directly, I can provide you with a superbill—a special type of receipt you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.
A superbill includes all the necessary information your insurance company needs to process a claim, such as:
- A description of the services provided
- The medical and procedure codes (ICD-10 and CPT codes)
- The fee for each service
- My credentials and provider information
Think of it as a bridge between your therapy sessions and your insurance company. You pay for services up front, and then use the superbill to try to get reimbursed by your insurer, depending on your specific plan and coverage.
If you’re unsure about your benefits, I always recommend calling your insurance provider and asking whether they cover out-of-network speech therapy services and how to file a claim using a superbill.
