Progress over perfection. Always.

Have you ever had that awful, overwhelming feeling?
You have a million things to accomplish and no idea how you’re going to get everything done by the deadline. Of course you have—we all have.

Have you ever actually missed a deadline?
What did you do next?

Did you panic?
Beat yourself up?
Carve out time to finish the task as soon as possible and move on?
Or did you give up altogether?

All of those reactions are possibilities when you hit that wall. And I’m here to tell you something important: it happens to everyone. It’s okay. Just don’t quit.

Those of you who know me personally know that this past year has been filled with major life changes. We packed up our lives, moved to Florida with our two senior dogs, and lived in a fifth-wheel camper for eight months in St. Augustine. During that time, we also experienced the heartbreaking loss of our sweet KeeLee girl, who had been diagnosed with mega-esophagus and suspected cancer. If you didn’t read about her journey, I shared more in a post about her battle with reflux.

With so much happening so quickly, everything shifted my perspective.

We moved into our new home in December and hit the ground running. We checked off a long list of to-dos… but there was one thing I forgot.

My blog posts.

With everything else going on, I missed my regular posting day. So now what?
Do I throw in the towel?
Do I tell myself I’ve fallen out of the routine and can’t get back into it?

Nope. Absolutely not.

I still have so much information to share. And while I may not have a huge following, if these posts help even oneperson, they’re worth it. I like to imagine someone stumbling across a post and thinking, Hmm… that’s helpful. I’ll give that a try.

The truth is, it’s unrealistic to expect that starting out—or even continuing forward—will be perfectly smooth. There will be slip-ups. Missed posts. Missed opportunities.

And that’s okay.

I’m human. Moving forward, I’ll work on being more consistent. When I mess up, I’ll chalk it up to a learning experience and keep moving.

Because progress isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up again.
Even after a pause.
Even after a setback.
Even when life gets heavy.

So if you’re feeling overwhelmed or disappointed in yourself right now, let this be your reminder: take a breath, be kind to yourself, and keep going. You’re allowed to stumble—as long as you don’t stop walking forward. 💛
